That screen panel in this model is the same as the one in the Strix G712LU and it's a terrible display! I've decided to change it with an innolux N173HCE-G33 (144hz, 100% sRGB, 300nits).
Everything works fine excepted the "Game Visual" software provided by Asus.

why no one go into detail of the fact that 47xxx-49xxx series can actually boost 100mhz extra on top of advertised speed? Wanna find out if 4900H can boost into 4.5GHz

non-gamer(couple of hours a week) here

1. That display-panel is awful for a non-gamer (upgrade it with a 75%+ Adobe gamut panel)
2. smaller arrow & narrow numpad keys on 17" laptop
3. missing Radeon RX 5600M GPU offering

Like that second M.2 slot for upgrades

btw, what's the make & model of those RAM sticks?

1. I haven't experienced detrimental screen qualities on the A15. Maybe I'm just not picky about the RGB ratings. It does look way better than the FX505 ryzen.
3. If you like AMD offerings feel free to get the Dell or MSI. Personally I'm glad they went with Nvidia. I haven't had anything but issues with AMD mobile graphics.

The 2nd m.2 is taken up by my primary 1tb nvme due to the original slot being too close to the heatpipe. SSD was hitting 60deg+

The memory in mine were Samsung 3200s. I upgraded to HyperX 3200 32gb. Gskills aren't compatible, they won't operate at 3200.

Quote120 Hz refresh rate and fast black-white response times
Asus trying to push new narrative but numbers are numbers. Below average, slow response time display.

Seems a good Asus job, but they should not only cater to gamers but also  to those that are more artistic and prefer a better screen instead of a fast screen.

It is usually the Crucial 3200 RAM.

Exchanging the Display is not as easy as it was with These narrow bezels.

Somebody should make a guide of replacing the screen for the new TUF laptops because Asus won't bother to do it since it'll cannibalize their Zephyrus line for the price

asus has done a good job of improving last year's line-up. but when i asked them during the presentation in january, why the screens look so bad, i got the answer-we have to save on something, its a budget model.

I really hope this is just the beginning of well rounded budget to mid tier gaming laptops in 2020. Crummy display colours aside, the TUF with 90WH does exceptionally well in all aspects!!! Renoir-H certainly helps, dang!

The touchpad is so small because they needed the room for the massive sticker next to it.

Can we just stop with the stickers already?  Do you see Apple doing this stuff?

I'm so happy to see AMD kicking Intel's butt for a change.  Competition is great for consumers and innovation.    Intel has been so stagnant for the past decade because they didn't have any competition.

Asus has completely revamped its TUF series from top to bottom and the changes are significant. If you were considering the older FX705/FX505 series, skip it and consider the newer FA706/FA506 series instead.
