The 4800u in Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 should operate at 25-27W... which when tested, resulted in 30% higher performance.

So, this isn't your run of the mill 4800u (its an unlocked one).

+50% fps, +70% 1%lows, and your mighty zen 2 cores are usable at the same time.

Cherrypicking benchmarks is not a valid argument. Overall there's only about a 10% difference, and iGPUs do not prevent your CPU cores from being usable. It would not be remotely cost effective to add an MX350 to a Ryzen 7 3800U.

No one cares for your dGPU religion.
wait what? what religion, can you explain please?
QuoteWe want more options that really matter, not ones that have little to no difference.
+50% fps, +70% 1%lows, and your mighty zen 2 cores are usable at the same time. and you have an access to all of your memory. and some games are not even working in igpu mode.
this is the BIGGEST difference between ANY gpu-gpu step/upgrade in a laptops.
..
and even more laughable-the same "i dont want the biggest jump i better save my money" people, strongly believes that vega>iris is very important.

the sad part

intel -iris igpu or mx350
amd-no choice, no options.
they said you guys dont wanna better options for amd or any options whatsoever. gimped amd because users want them to be gimped.

No one cares for your dGPU religion. We want more options that really matter, not ones that have little to no difference. If it was at least a 1660ti dGPU, then sure that sounds like an option. An mx350 has little to no benefits, just adds weight, cost and heat.

It's one of those things manufacturers put in because they have contract obligations with Nvidia to sell X GPUs so they cram them in.

The options people want are top end gpus (not in this slim model), good screens, maybe thunderbolt and etc.

Any chance to see this laptop (15") with at least an Rtx 1650? I'm actually looking for a real competitor for the msi prestige 15 or dell inspiron 15 (7590)..

Not saying 4800U is bad. It pretty much destroys and spits on the intel U-series processors (including ice lake). But 10750H is a 6 core part. 10875 is the 8 core part. Sure equalizing another chip with 1/3 of the TDP is crazy but don't muddle the specifics.

Well, according to the following article:
https://www.notebookcheck.com/i7-10875H-vs-i7-10750H_11949_11708.247552.0.html

The 10875 scores in Firestrike Physics are as following:
min: 21113 avg: 21399 median: 21426 (73%)      max: 21658 points

So, that's roughly 9% better than 4800U in Yoga Slim... which doesn't really look good for Intel since AMD comes within 10% of Intels' H processor rated at 45W TDP (but will draw MUCH more) vs 27W TDP unlocked 4800U (if I'm not mistaken, the Lenovo Yoga Slim uses the TDP UNLOCKED version of 4800U allowing it to stretch all the way to its maximum of 27W - unless of course they changed the specs and constricted it back to 15W, but nothing was mentioned in that regard).

So, we're talking about 27W vs 45W at 9% performance difference (and stronger iGP on AMD side) for about 40% lower power draw on 4800U.

The fact AMD was able to cram 8 cores and 16 threads into a low power SKU speaks volumes.
Intel is still stuck with 4 cores and 8 threads (tops) in that power envelope... and remember that Intel's TDP only counts mostly for stock clocks... not turbo (which make the Intel version draw A LOT more power).

Generally speaking, with Zen 2, AMD also exceeds its TDP, but it stays much closer to it than Intel does...

This is why we want unlocked 4800u+3070/3080 for 10+hours office work and while gaming 90%of power usage and cooling capacity can go to dGPU.

I thought 10750H being a 6 core processor is a common knowledge...

The AMD Ryzen 7 4800U mobile APU has appeared on 3DMark's Fire Strike benchmark once again, seemingly as the key component of the upcoming Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 laptop. The Ryzen 4000 chip amassed a huge 19,204 points in the Physics Score, putting it way beyond the Comet Lake Intel Core i7-10750H rival.
