Not happening, period. Makes no sense whatsoever - here prospective PC owners, we'll take a bit loss selling to you and never expect you to purchase any software or service from us again.

The reverse however is likely, native xbox games playable on PC and Microsoft last year gave beta testers the chance to try it with State of Decay 2. The quicker that happens the better!

They already offer the Xbox Live Ultimate, this is how they can and will bridge windows PCs with xbox X series. You already get PC access to games when you have Ultimate, you don't when you have Gold. They can make Ultimate the requirement to access Windows S mode, this is where they get paid. It's simpler than you might think. They get paid for Live and get new subscribers on the PC side, which expands their user base to pc gamers (gives console gamers a taste of pc games). They've lost money selling hardware in the past, when they created the first xbox to get into the gaming market. Its not about losing money for them, its about planting the seeds for the next evolution of gaming and users.

Yup, I can see them opening the Series X to Windows S.  Not full, open Windows though.  That would make the box too hackable.  But, S Mode, locked down and safe... sure.  Let people do word processing, play that Cross Buy games, etc.

If they want to add it, it would likely require an xbox live subscription to make sue that they still make money off it.

They could say that you get windows for free with xbox live.

A rumor is circling that the Xbox Series X may feature a "Windows mode" startup option, effectively giving gamers access to a full-fat version of Windows on Microsoft's new gaming console. Will Windows mode really happen? Will you be able to run Steam on your Xbox Series X?
