Very disappointed about the punchhole, just look how good the k20 pro screen looks like without any notches. Then there's the possibility of a Mediatek soc, I would only buy a flagship for emulation and Snapdragon is the king for this so one more negative thing. Lastly will it have colors like k20 pro? I love how the red k20 pro variant looks like!

I would expect Snapdragon 855+ or sd865 from the k20 successor but get this instead, the only reason I don't buy k20 pro is because the 855+ premium model never got a global release and I hoped for the successor to have it :(

Maybe need to wait for k40 or mi 10 for SD 865 lol

So no 5G in Redmi k30 but the old Snapdragon 730G. I wish they would have upgraded the performance.

MediaTek making very long jumps, this is really amazing!

I think that K20 pro(Mi 9T pro) is more famous than K20. So I probably agree with what author said.
Because I read some people complain about lack of Gcam support on Redmi Note 8 Pro which use Mediatek Helio G90T.

My disappointment is about the screen--I was quite shocked about punch-hole front camera because it was downgrade from the notch-free screen.

So I will buy old notch-free true fullscreen K20 pro instead of K30. My Mi 8 is still working great so I don't think I will change the phone anytime soon though.

It seems to be a great launch and seriously great explanation for the case of explaining MediaTek devices aren't bad.

It's strange that the author describes a 5G phone to be thoroughly disappointing based on its inability to use custom roms alone.

How about 5G speed, camera/photo quality, batt life ,etc? These are facts that you have to ascertain and the judgment was made before that.

Do u know how many mobile users port custom roms to their phones to decide on that level of disappointment?

If you wish to just bash MediaTek for the sake of Qualcomm, just do so. But don't treat your readers as stupid.

"it would make no sense for the company to use an AMOLED display and a capacitive side-mounted reader—paying for two pieces of hardware—instead of just using the AMOLED under-display displays it's favored so much this year"
Really? I genuinely thought UD sensors are more expensive.

We genuinely believe the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro—and the Mi 9T rebrands—to be the best-value premium smartphones on the market. Xiaomi is set to release a successor this month, the Redmi K30, but things aren't looking quite as exciting as one would expect.
