What does "modern mechanics" mean? Is it just another Diablo III with new graphics and soundtrack? Or is it like a more traditional RPG, such as Diablo II? It is not clearly stated what those new mechanics are and how they tie into my biggest complaint of Diablo III: the little amount of choice in what you can do through six different skill slots + runes versus the skill tree of Diablo II. Diablo III used to be one of my favorite games, but after playing Diablo II again, I loved the dark mood of the dungeons and the freedom to choose what kind of play style that you want.

I don't buy it, if for nothing else than the 2020/2021 release window. Blizzard has come right out and said it's not even coming out Blizzard "soon." I feel like it's, at minimum, two full years away, probably more.

Back in July, a Blizzard employee unveiled most of the details presented at BlizzCon, but the Reddit post was dismissed as pure speculation. Nevertheless, the details are spot on for the most part, and there is some info on aspects that haven't been touched in the BlizzCon presentations, like the full class roster, planned classes, next gen console support and closed beta planned date.
