And one more important note: Acer is popular for its low price tag with "ok-ish" building quality. For a price tag like that, the unacceptable performance and market standpoint of Acer are simply a big NO to me.

Why would anyone accept the crippled performance, limited port selection, and high price when the LG Gram does away with all those problems for just a tiny bit more weight (2.2 lbs for 14-inch model)?
