In November 2019 I made the mistake of purchasing the Envy 360 i7-10510U with Nvidia GEForce MX250 (supposed to have its own cooling deck to minimize overheating and supposed to have far more power than I would ever need for graphic design projects).
This laptop is slow!  It is slow switching between programs, toggling between multiple documents, and it is slow loading programs.  It constantly flickers and freezes and locks me out.  It is supposed to be able to handle Adobe CS, but I don't even have it installed yet and am running into issues.
In addition, it runs HOT!  VERY HOT!  So hot that it will burn my skin if I am not careful to keep my cooling pad under it.
It boasts a full-size keyboard which it does not have.  The buttons are cramped together and so far, I count five hot keys that are not present.
The back-lit keyboard is so bright that you cannot see the letters in a dimly lit room.  The edge-to-edge glass has zero tolerance for accidental touches especially when in tablet mode which means without knowing the user can accidentally open an unlimited number of tabs and/or programs which severely over clogs the system and it freaks out and freezes and the user is forced to shut down and start over.
The battery lasts only five hours of non-streaming non-gaming activity (documents & basic internet browsing).
I went with the higher resolution because of my graphic design work, but regardless of my settings and regardless of which program I am in, the images and text start out fuzzy then flicker then straighten and become clear.
The Nvidia Graphics card is not programmed to run the entire computer, only the internet which means the Intel UHD is left to run everything else.
It has only two USB ports, even though I ordered three, I preferred four, but was told I could not order four as the unit did not have the physical space for four.  It does not have a DVD/CD.  The one feature that is performing better than expected is the sound.  The speakers put out quite a booming sound.
And almost done, after four months of daily use, the fingerprint reader has quit working.
OK, I'll stop with one more piece of info...Customer Service at HP is less than optimal.  Their hours of availability are 24/7 for sales and for service the consumer can leave a message 24/7, but for support the hours are limited.  There is no option to email a message, one must call or do online chat and if you need help, it better before 9:00 PM PST because they run on EST and close at 11 PM.
I don't know why I am telling you all of this, I guess to reiterate the HP Envy is a less than desirable laptop and I would not recommend any compilation of components in any Envy.  I would tell others that doing your due diligence is not enough because it is your word against HP's, and you will not find any resolve.
Thanks for posting your review!  I am so glad it is not just me that has found these same issues.  To hear HP talk to me, I was beginning to think I was losing my mind and that I am imagining all these issues, or at least I am lying to them about how I use my machine; they say I must be running different and more than what I say.  So, YAY...I am glad it's not just me.  Thank you!

p.s. when I click on the spell check button below a pop up appears, but it is blank, and nothing happens.  FYI

We often complain about smaller laptops failing to keep their processors cool enough to maintain peak clock speeds, so a 17-inch laptop should have a large enough footprint to do so, right? Well, the HP Envy 17-ce1002ng may be a 17-inch machine, but it cannot make use of the full potential of its Comet Lake processor, although it does a better job with its NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics card. What is the fuss about Comet Lake, then?
