ISO has been auto for...at least as long as phones took photos. I don't think this is anything significant.

Some new trademarking applications associated with the OEM Samsung have reportedly been filed with UK and EU authorities. They are for "Smart ISO" and "AI ISO", and apply to Class 9 equipment. This suggests a new dimension of control over light sensitivity in upcoming smartphone cameras.
