Cloud computing and slimmer design will make them popular again. Phablet phones go foldable, but that's tablet already.

Although tablets were expected to go extinct, a new study by Future Market Insights predicts that the demand for such pieces of hardware "will surge extensively in the upcoming years" thanks to multiple reasons. This report claims that global tablet sales for the decade ending in 2026 will bring in no less than US$600 billion.
