This is pretty dumb. Who cares if it's more powerful? If it doesn't have the software to support it, it's a moot point. As the article pointed out, the XboneX is more powerful than the PS4, and that's not helping them. Until Microsoft learns to expand it's market beyond dude-bros playing Halo and GOW (not that those games aren't fun), Sony is going to keep beating them.
I don't think you're seeing the bigger picture here...
In this console generation, the Xbox One got lost to the PS4 for a few reasons. From what I've been reading over the months, Microsoft has been working on fixing these problems in time for the next gen consoles. A more powerful console is only one of many things they are doing...
1 - Lack of exclusives. They've bought a handful of well regarded companies to make exclusives for their next console. That's basically what Sony did and it's worked out well for them.
2 - Under-powered console. Obviously graphics aren't everything, but the Xbox One has been spanked in reviews for multi-platform games for offering the inferior experience. The Xbox One X has been a successful console largely because it's been regarded as the best place to play these games now. I imagine Microsoft want to keep that going.
3 - Too much emphasis on home media. I imagine the logic behind this was that in the later years of the PS3 and Xbox 360, the consoles were actually used more for streaming media than games. There was a lot of proof behind this, so Microsoft made the Xbox One a media device that played games, instead of a games console with media capabilities. This alienated them from the people who actually buy games consoles... People who play games. They've mostly already fixed this now (even if Netflix is still the most used app on the Xbox One and PS4).
4 - Forcing the kinect, driving up the price of the console. The kinect is an awesome accessory and true innovation, but forcing it on people was a massive miss-step. They've since fixed that now.
5 - Prohibitive DRM that made sharing games and playing offline impossible. This was stupidity at its finest. They backtracked on this HARD, but the damage was already done and they gave Sony a massive head-start in this generation. In fact, this was the reason many long-time xbox fans initially switched to PS4.
