First, I would reconsider Kaby-Lake-G due to its unresolved software compatibility and reliability issues. If you need 6C/12T + 1050 Ti power in a 2-in-1 form factor, then Spectre x360 15 is your only option.

8565U + MX150 has virtually no merit compared to the alternatives listed in this review. Lenovo Yoga 730 15, Asus ZenBook Flip UX562UD, Acer Spin 5 15 are better choices with GTX 1050 graphics, and between them I would lean towards the Yoga.

While more expensive, Surface Book 2 is another great pick.

What would you recommend to someone who is trying to choose between 2019 HP Spectre x360 15t with i7-8565U chipset (i.e., this year's entry-level model) and 2018 HP Spectre x360 15t with i7-8705G chipset, given that the model tested above with the i7-8750H chipset is quite expensive?

I remember reading somewhere that the i7-8565U's performance is in general about the same as that of the i7-8505U's, although this also depends on the particular implementation. Looking at the looped CB R15 test results above (the big line chart), one can conclude that the 2018 Spectre with i7-8705G would still be superior to this year's entry-level Spectre with i7-8565U, even with its thermal throttling issues. But I wanted to double check this since, I guess, HP's 2019 implementation of the i7-8565U might be better than its 2018 implementation of i7-8505U.

Also, I was wondering how fan activity, noise, and heating issues compare between these two models. Notebookcheck had noted the 2018 Spectre's fan issues earlier. I suppose these are no longer an issue with the more efficient and calmer i7-8565U?

RAM and Wi-Fi card are both soldered on board. That's first on a long list of deal breakers.

The article and the images http_forum.notebookreview.com/threads/owners-lounge-spectre-x360-15-df0068nr-late-2018-8565u-cpu-mx150-gpu.825683/page-3#post-10834197 say RAM is soldered.
Please show evidence that there are 2 RAM SLOTS with upgradeable RAM, or correct the bug in your article.

The new HP Spectre x360 is an all-rounder that gets most things right. The convertible scores highly for its powerful hardware, backlit keyboard, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, good battery life and its 2 TB SSD. The touchscreen supports the HP Tilt Pen too, which adds more functionality than many 15-inch convertibles have.
