End of the day, the Commie Clown Party OWNS Huawei (and EVERY 'company') in China.  Ren will do the CCP's bidding without question or will suffer the consequences - he has NO choice.
While you're not incorrect, this is a despicable company all by itself, without the influence of the CCP, just look at all the scandals that plagued their consumers electronics department in the past year alone, those have nothing to do with the Party, they're just lying and deceiving on their own accord, they obviously think it's acceptable practice and sadly a significant portion of the market seems to agree.

Ren Zhengfei, the CEO of Huawei, has written an email warning his colleagues of the possibility of "hard times" in the future. They may include reductions in the size of the company's various regional subsidiaries. These comments may be related to Huawei's recent loss of business in the 5G infrastructure area.
