It all depends on power consumed. Numbers are ok, but when you need an extra 100W per socket, things add up fast.

Although there have been a couple of leaks on Rome's performance, AMD's newest server CPU has never been put head to head against Intel's immediate competition, the new Cascade Lake based Xeon server CPU. However, Wang Dang of HKEPC has apparently gotten access to both Rome based and Cascade Lake based systems and gathered Cinebench scores for each.
