You post this only 5h after the announcement? On this site, which typically gets few comments?

Well, here's a comment for you:  :)
I'm a backer of the Librem 5 crowdfunding campaign, and am keeping a close eye on its development. It is an ambitious project. Will it succeed? I sure hope so. I would dearly love to be able to purchase a phone that I (not Apple or Google and/or my wireless carrier) truly own and control.

Thanks to a collaboration between Purism and UBports, the upcoming crowd-funded Librem 5 smartphone now officially supports Purism's own PureOS and Ubuntu Touch. Ubuntu Touch, which was abandoned by Canonical last year, was picked up by the UBports team for further development and may finally find a more permanent home on the Librem 5.
