I have an I7 9750h. I have activated speedshift option but now I noticed that there is a second option called speedstep also active. Should I disable it?
Hello there! I was undervolting my Intel (R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @2.20GHz at -125mV and everything went fine. I tried -140mV and I tried the TS Bench again and the score was red so not as good as the -125mV. Does that make anything different? Should I stay at -125mV or go up further. And my Laptop didnt crash on either.
Hi, When i reboot my computer and i start throttlestop, it don't keep my undervolt that i have make, i do to rewrite manually. What can i do to keep my undervolt values ? Thanks
Hi, my laptop has rather nasty coil whine, which immediately goes away as soon as I disable turbo boost.
So I created a "quiet" profile without turbo boost and a "fast" profile with turbo boost. Basically I only need "fast" mode whenever I compile something complex using TeX. So it would be super nice if I could configure ThrottleStop to switch between profiles depending on whether the PDFLATEX.EXE process is currently running or not.
Is that possible? I was unable to find any option in TS or any related info online. Thanks a lot!
Hi. I am Intisar. I am using AsusPro P2440UA with inter core i3 7100U for almost one and half year. Recently several months ago my laptop crashed and after then the CPU always stuck at 0.38 GHz. Sometimes when I work the Pc suddenly gets hot and the CPU gets down to bottom. And it continuously stuck there. I have done a lot of research on this. Then I gave a shot on ThrottleStop. However I have done the undervolting but the problems seems to be the same if I don't overclock means when I don't uncheck the BD PROCHOT. I have undervolted my CPU CORE and CACHE to -79 degrees and GPU to -32 degrees. But It doesn't work if I don't stop the BD PROCHOT and overclock the CPU. But I am scared whether It will damage the PC! Can You Help Please?
I resolved the 0x000007b error by installing the x64 Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (vcredist_x64.exe), and then copying mfc120u.dll and msvcr120.dll from C:\Windows\SysWOW64 to the ThrottleStop directory.
Everytime i opened throttlestop i have the error "The application was unable to start correctly(0x000007b).Click Ok to close the application". What can i do to solve this error?
Question: has anyone every run into a 'code execution' error when mfc120u.dll was not found? Even unzipped and saved locally, .exe keeps hitting this error, even when running as Administrator. Any tips or workaround welcome. - Seth
What optimal offset voltage should I apply for a MSI GL63 8SD laptop with an intel i7 8750h? Also please tell me if it is possible to undervolt the discrete Nvidia GPU?
As far as I'm aware, there isn't any benefit to bringing your voltage back up to default. If you're system is stable with an offset of -0.125V, then bringing it back up to 0V just means that that extra voltage is wasted (as heat). Chip manufacturers set that default value high, so that 99.99...% of processors will work, which also means that same percentage of chips are wasting at least some power.
Despite it's a very informative article, for me full procedure is still unclear. For my scenario I'd like to start undervolting only while gaming, so that I thought I can create a UV profile and launch TS only when needed (actually associated to a profile of Dragon center of my MSI). How to achieve this? Doubts: 1) Playing with FIVR values and pressing "ok - save voltages immediately" will take effect if you don't have pressed "Turn on"? 2) Once you press "Turn on", what "Turn off" does since to really turn off you have to delete ini file and shut off? Will the changes remain active even if TS don't launch at startup?
Can someone please either advise here, or possibly the Author could update his article, to explain the ICCMax usage? I mean I've googled it but still have limited awareness of the preferred settings...
