Our President hates fake news? I am a former Agilent employee... and was around for the spin-off of Avago from Agilent. Both Avago and Verigy (the semiconductor test business of Agilent) were domiciled in Singapore for a variety of reasons including tax incentives and IP protection. Neither the "move" of Avago nor the "move" of Verigy resulted in the "shifting" of American jobs to Singapore... and the predominance of the decision-making remained in the US for both companies. In case you're curious... Avago acquired Broadcom and Broadcom's ticker symbol remains AVGO. Fake news! Political pork.

According to a report, technology company Broadcom Limited could be redomiciling to the US in the near future, possibly by May. The company is currently based in Singapore and has a co-headquarters in San Jose, California. Broadcom was bought out by Avago Technologies in 2015 for a deal worth US$37 billion and the newly combined company was then renamed Broadcom Limited.
