Bislang hat Google in seinen Pixel 2-Phones nur eine spezielle IPU integriert, setzt ansonsten aber auf die generische Qualcomm Snapdragon 835-Mobilplattform. Der ehemalige AMD-Techniker John Bruno, der zuletzt für die Apple A-Prozessoren zuständig war, arbeitet nun bei Google und könnte 2018 den Umstieg auf ein eigenes Chipdesign begleiten, wird gemunkelt.
