Hi - this might be a long shot, but does anyone know how I can get a 4K Xeon Screen replacement? Or if it would be okay to put a lower resolution screen on this machine in its stead, maybe?
Also Techpowerup site confirms that M2200 has 32/64 ROPs/TMUs. After doing a bit benchmarking I found out that:
* I get consistently lower (~8%) benchmark scores for 3DMark06 and 3DMark 11 Performance. * Cloud Gate score is ~21% lower. * Fire Strike seems to be lagging 1-2%. * Time Spy score seems consistent with the review.
This is a very nice review however i would like to correct on one topic - P51s has nothing to do with P51. in the past, we used T560 - P50s as differece between GPU config. P50s was orderable with Nvidia while T560 was not. This is no longer the case with T570 - however we decided to continue with P51s line. But the motherboard is same. So it is better to compare those two. P51 is a replacement for W (orkstation) line, therefore comparison between 50(1) -70(1) would be more accurate. Our newest P52 will be even more powerful, as this will be our first 8th Gen ( not-refresh ) CPU with new Pascal GPU as well.
MSI and Clevo has managed to put Quadro P3000 and P4000 into light and thin 2 kg 15" laptops (WS63VR , P955HQ1/3) based on their slim gaming counterparts (GS6xVR , P95xHP6/HR). Thinkpad should have a competitor as well but with a large battery, thin bezels and a second M.2-2280 slot instead of a 2.5" all like Gigabyte Aero 15W/X but with a centered keyboard w/o the numpad.
@skan: No they're almost identical, performance and specs-wise. But the P51 is cheaper than the HP's ZBook 15 G4 and much cheaper than Dell's Precision 7520.
How come this isn't on your Top 10 list for workstations? A common problem with NotebookCheck unfortunately. But in most other regards this site and its reviews are great!
The FullHD Lottery is really crap. At the moment i have the AUO FullHD Display in my P51. Because of a dark area it will be replaced. The AUO is sad in Colors and in Brightness. Black level is good. The new one will be a LG Display. I hope to get better Colors and more Brighness. On the P51 nonTouch FullHD there are only 2 Display. The AUO and the LG. I will report wether the LG is better or not.
@Filip: Unfortunately, same as before: jaw-dropping 250 nits of brightness, 700:1 contrast ratio, 60% sRGB / 35% AdobeRGB color gamut, and 160 degrees viewing angle. Battery life browsing (no video playback) is around 8 hours with the FHD and 6 hours with UHD, with increased brightness eating more battery on a higher resolution display.
@zobix: P50's UHD panels solely made by Sharp. With the P51, there's a lottery between BOE (Beijing BOE Technologies) and AUO (AU Optronics). You probably already know this but quality wise, AUO>LGD>BOE.
