He mentioned end of the year which is very late considering Intel's move with 4c/8t 15w. They don't even have a proper leak benchmark yet, only a weird one with dubious multicore scoring. I reckon they will take a little part of market back but not as huge as how Ryzen desktop did.

This news put a big smile on my face. The race had been ignited but it's back now people! Soon Qualcomm will join the Bandwagon on Windows so let the annual improvements start multiplying.

Regarding the arguably low CPU frequencies, AMD states that Ryzen was a brand new architecture on a brand new node, making it a worst case scenario. But it still turned out well, since the Ryzen Threadrippers can go above 4 GHz. As for the upcoming Ryzen 2, AMD promises increased clocks and more instructions per second, as well as better game optimizations.
