This is totally normal. I have seen hundreds of Dell laptops, which now have replaced motherboard that came with updated heatsink like this one (original heatsink covered both dies and the updated one does not anymore). This is the case since 5th gen. Intel CPUs

I've owned Fujitsu U904 before my XPS13 and latest X1 Carbon: for a 1500 euro laptop, it was a huge disappointment. A few uneven edges, never able to get even close to max performance of the vpro i7 (I think it was i7-4600u), extra annoying fan frequency (and running most of the time), and ultimately a very crappy keyboard. The Sharp IGZO panel at 3200x1800 was wonderful, the case was slick, and it was one of rare laptops you could order without a touchscreen but high res, and more than 8gb ram (max at 10). Battery life was also not so great, so I've moved on. I still miss that screen, though :)

I'm getting one of this, has been using Thinkpad and Fujitsu for ages, tried HP Spectre too, but the U937 is definitely a must have

Fujitsu always builds respectable business machine but the problem is that company is just good in engineering side, not in marketing or sales especially outside Japan. even months after U937 introduction, there is no chance to see any U937 or other new lifebooks in Australia. there are just some internet websites that claim they import the model after receiving order, you must be insane to order a laptop from not known brand outside of Japan with more 2000$ price tag without having a chance to see or touch its keyboard. They are very slow in business sales as well, this machine can easily be a good sell in financial sector which security and portability are key selection criteria for employees' laptop. Hope that Fujitsu do something about marketing department which acts just introverted.

Is the battery non user-replaceable? The maintenance paragraph said you do get access to it, but in the case's one its said that it cannot be removed...

I wonder what a Backlit keyboard would bring to a business laptop. I never met anyone working in my field (IT) complaining that his keyboard doesn't have a backlight. Maybe if that person work in the dark it would help. Still that would be a small minority. The majority of people who want a Backlight are hardcore gamers or those have a computer for the design (Apple). While I prefer a keyboard with a backlit as it's still better to have it than not, it's still nice though I never actually find any benefit to have it. At best it uses more battery or help you get an headache faster.  Even when I am in the dark I can still type without looking at my key. Backlit keyboard on a computer is the least important thing to me, I would prefer to save the money if I had the choice.
DVD option is probably more important for a business laptop than a backlit keyboard even if I don't use that too but I know that it's useful for some guys who works everyday with their laptop.
So why I don't understand.

Historically very high quality, respectable, intro page is well organized, straight to the point, and don't even lie about battery life. Comparable reliability to major brands including Thinkpads and Touchbooks. Problem is, they're not as well known in the west and sales region is rather limited.
