Herbe Kritik musste Microsoft einstecken, weil selbst das neueste Surface Pro-Modell ohne USB-C-Port und somit auch ohne Thunderbolt 3-Support auskommen muss. Auch beim Surface Laptop fehlt der neue Standard. Mit einem Patent könnte der Hersteller USB-C und die Vorteile des Surface Connector künftig miteinander verbinden, es gibt aber auch Nachteile der Lösung.
