Minor correction needed. The 750Ti is a Maxwell chip and not a Kepler chip (despite being released as a 700 series).

It was the first Maxwell chip released which gave it incredible power efficiency and bang for buck. Both contributed significantly to it's popularity.

It's also worth noting, that the 960M is actually the same as the 750Ti core (GM107). Thus, to make a desktop+laptop comparison you should combine those and not the desktop 960. Furthermore, the GM107 core is identical in the 860M and the cut-down version is used in the 750, 850M and 950M.

Combining all of those together would indicate the old GM107 is still well and truly on top by a significant margin. I count 11.91% from the pictured list which is almost double the 1060.

The desktop 960 used a much newer core (GM206) which only saw mobile use as the very short-lived 965M "Ti" (not to be confused with the early version 965M which used a much bigger GM204).

There are also the 3gb and 6gb variants. GTX 1060 has 4 versions total.
