Had this phone for about a year now. Changed back glass three times. Stupid idea to make it out of glass. It gets very hot when running even a internet radio app in the background. And worse of all, after some updates people barely hear me speak. Never going to buy a sony phone again. Friends also have issues who use sony phones.

It would be great if you could post your calibrated white balance settings. The last time you posted relevant settings was with the Z3.

I´ve owned both the Galaxy S6 and the Z5C, I sold that S6 because it was quite hot all the time, battery used to drain very fast and memory usage was pretty heavy compared to other phones I´ve owned. Now, this Z5C is a beautiful phone, battery time is great as it last for about a day and a half and although is got the Snapdragon 810, it doesn´t get as hot as the samsung, nevertheless I have to admit that the camera on the S6 is far better.

There is something wrong with NC's power consumption measurements.

NC states that Z5C has higher idle consumption than S6. I had boot phones at the same time, and during night, let's say 8-hours idle period, S6 used 50% more battery than Z5C. Same apps, same accounts synchronised on both phones.

Both phones had very same screen-on power consumption, which is a great thing for bigger, higher resolution and brighter S6.

NC forgot to write that although camera has 23Mpix, only 8Mpix are used in non-automatic modes. 23Mpix vs 8Mpix. This is big difference isn't it?

And actually in low-light situation Z5C pictures are no better than these taken by old Samsung S2+ and two generations older Z1C to which I have direct comparison. I couldn't believe this so I asked other person for blind test.

Also the camera tends to use long exposures in attempt to avoid high ISO noise which often results in blurry pictures in low light situations.

In daylight results are better but still inferior next to Samsung S6.

Hello,

Why tests performed by GSM Arena are different on the autonomy of the compact Z5 battery?

Battery Life test.

I've compared this phone side by side to Galaxy S6.

Z5C often takes blurry pictures with non-perfect light conditions (i've tested boot phones in same store). And when they are sharp they are more noisy. S6 has OIS and less noise (with Sony sensor!).

S6 has way better loudspeaker. It's bit louder and sound is a lot more punchy. Tested on good quality music video from YT.

S6 often restarts applications. When I've been returning to Opera browser I've had to wait until it reload the page. Z5C always had Opera ready. I've tested this with same set of apps in same order. Strange to see a phone with 50% more RAM giving worse results.

Great review, as always.

Coming from the Z3C battery for me has been fine on the Z5C. I finish a heavy use day with 40-30%, which is about the same as what I'd get with the Z3C.

Three times drop in battery performance compared to Z3 Compact is a real bummer  :(

Small giant. Despite the addition Compact, the Xperia Z5 Compact is a very good choice and very close to the bigger sibling Z5. Our review will show whether users of the predecessor Xperia Z3 Compact should think about an upgrade as well.
