xmg p706 has G-Sync, even though i won't be playing much;
and i did contacted their support (which by the way is amazingly kind, informative and fast) - both models use LG LP173WF4-SPD1. They also say that ASUS ROG GL752 most likely use the same panel.

IIIRC, the H706 does not support G-Synch and comes with a different panel. but that's just written from memory, without actually checking.

though you could directly ask Schenker (even through their support account here at the forum). they will be happy to help you, I guess.

Yes, without any doubt, the only logical choice is Schenker H706 or Schenker xmg p706.
Only one question: what's the difference between these two? I configured the same hardware parts, but in the end Schenker H706 is worth a few hundreds less. so it's only about the chassis?

actually, i was wrong. Schenker updated their hardware configurations, so now i can build an absolute mind-blowing ideal laptop for myself.

The only bad side is that it has less beautiful chassis and I don't know which display they're using in P706 and how it would compare to the display in ASUS ROG GL752 :(

as for the MSI, for example GE72 6QC Apache would compare to ROG GL752VW-DH71, but MSI doesn't even tell what display type they're using, nor processor model - i couldn't find that info anywhere. that's ridiculous and exactly one of the things i dislike this company.

Asus on the other hand were always reliable on both hardware and software sides.

I think i'll buy Asus ROG GL752VW-DH71 and install SSD on it.

a few months ago, when Asus had its previous line of ROG GL751, i was really considering Schenker XMG A706 with manual config, but now that GL752 is out, unfortunately it can't compete - less video memory, DDR3 :(

As for MSI, they are expensive and i had bad experience with their motherboards in the past. For what it's worth, i'll check a few models.

P.S. I'll be ordering from the US using mail forwarding.

1) About the displays, no plan, but  checkout this forum http://forum.notebookreview.com/ maybe you can find the answer by yourself (as i guess in the US stuff is already released).

2) Thinkpad Y700 - i would wait (or look for) any reviews, as Lenovo sometimes did not have the "upper class" displays in their devices (means more the not so good ones), usually ThinkPads I´ll prefer for work (means workstation style / docking station and stuff, office notebooks) as they´re pretty good and durable there, but for gaming i never had one (and never seen one, and never found any review about great devices from Lenovo in that focus). Yes they have some out there, but those stuff not reaches goal in focus of any Top10 or high ranking in any reviews, most complaints about the displays ...


ASUS - looks okay, if it´s not available - wait for it. What i ever complain at ASUS gaming notebooks is the I/O port on the right side (where usually your mouse is) seems they´ll never catch that. SSD Question: i guess yes, but if theres an NVMe SSD inside it´s the 200 bugs worth, if not you can buy a cheap m2 2280 SATA device (thats what i guess - i don´t know or can verify for this particular one, but usually such devices will have an 2.5" SATA slot for HDD or SSD, and an additional m2-2280 slot (or NVMe some newer ones) ).


3) What about MSI or different other manufacturers? In which country you wanna buy that thing (so in germany we have also Schenker which got nice portfolio) What about device in general - so you prefer an 17" model which is portable?

Also, i could just buy ASUS ROG GL752VW-DH71, which is worth 200$ less and suits me even better, but doesn't have SSD. The question is: will i be able to install SSD into it without loosing its original HDD?

Hello, I desperately need to buy my first laptop, but the model that suits me best (ASUS ROG GL752VW-DH74) is not yet on sale and i don't know when it will be released.

There is an alternative - Lenovo Ideapad Y700-17 80Q0001NUS, the only significant difference is that it has 5400RPM HDD, plus from what i've heard Asus is much more reliable.

The biggest problem is that i need this laptop to work with design and display is the most important part of the device for me. However, there are no tests yet and i have no idea what display model they use in neither of them, although before Asus ROG laptops always used the best available options, so there is a chance that Asus will have a better display than Lenovo.

The questions:
1. What display is used in ASUS ROG GL752VW-DH74 and Lenovo Ideapad Y700-17 80Q0001NUS
2. Which laptop is better (which manufacturer is more reliable)
3. Should i wait for Asus, even though i need the laptop now and Asus still doesn't tell when it will be available?
