Got this one reconditioned.

The best bit is the touchscreen. Will never again buy a laptop without it. A 17 inch screen just about gives me a fair chance of touching the right button with one of my 10 thumbs.

The worst bit is the backlit silver keyboard. Honestly not one reviewer actualy tried using it in the dark!. If they had they would know that the light reflected off those silver keys make the backlighting useless. Worse than useless in that at least with the backlighting off you can read the keys by reflected light. I disable the backlighting and dream of mat black keys.

Bottom line - A low performance, High priced laptop - but one the just keeps going doing what you need it to do.

Yet AGAIN no information on PWM dimming. Everyone needs to move to http://laptopmedia.com for reviews since they actually post this vital information.

I have this one. Right after I bought it I replaced HDD to SSD and this laptop became just perfect!

Sir, I want to know about its battery life, warranty and what to do if its battery become fat?

I owned Dell Inspiron 7737, its a piece of s*** laptop BUT after I upgraded:-

1) RAM = Corsair Vengeance CMSX16GX3M2B1866C10 (LV)DDR3L (actually it just need Corsair Vengeance CMSX16GX3M2B1600C9 (LV)DDR3L to run because Dell Inspiron 7737 doesnt support anything above 1600MHz but here in Malaysia the stock is out and Corsair help me to get a dealer price for 1866MHz ).

2) HDD = Removed the DVD slot to installed SSD CADDY SLOT for the default 1TB HDD.

3) SSD = Fit the HDD slot with SSD LiteOn 512GB as my First Drive (C: OS Drive) (http://www.liteonssd.com/index.php?option=com_zoo&view=item&category_id=0&item_id=2489&Itemid=211).

Now it works superbly well. I'm satisfied with my Dell Inspiron 7737 :D Startup within 6.7 to 7.8 seconds to Windows 8.1 desktop page. Shutdown within 3.4 to 4 seconds. I could multitasking with heavy programs like AI, PS, Rendering Video and tons of Microsoft Office 2013 documents (words, excel, powerpoint) on the same time without a single LAGGING and JACKING.

Don't own it, neither do I want it. A friend gave it to me to solve his virus issues and wow... What a piece of s***. This laptop is anything BUT optimized to it's fullest potential. Windows 8 sucks the life out of this laptop. Also usb 3.0? It felt more like usb 2.0, again, this machine is NOT optimized at all. At best it's a fancy mac-look-alike that has nothing to do with speed nor efficiency. The display is also horrible, really angle specific and the glare on it is also horrible and the touch screen ability is just more marketability - otherwise it's an outdated piece of s*** with Win. 8. Once you make use of the touch screen the screen is filled with grease from your fingers. Overall I would NOT buy this laptop, especially at the current retail price. You really can't feel the 4th gen i7 and gpu with Win. 8. I can only presume that with Win. 7 it would be a ton better. Did not feel like going easy about this hence the language used, so there it was - an unbiased review - and I only had the opportunity to use the laptop on 3 occasions which it was fully evaluated. Out of 5, a 2 (2/5). Dell has disappointed me.

i love the specifications and everything about the Dell inspirion 17 7000, Dell inspirion 7737 model laptop, but still having issues with the one i bought...i have not enjoyed it here to my fullest (it went off while using it, just less than 2 months of purchase, took it back to where sold and to dell servive...was told its over-charging that affects it, i avoided that by unplugging the charger whenever charged but still going off without powering back until battery removed and reinstalled back), the keyboard also misbehaves at times (it seizes from functioning and also swaps). please if there is any way to render assistance to these will appreciate  your response to my email: [email protected]. Another average laptop from Dell... there are way better laptops on the market nowadays, so the answer is no - I would not recommend it. /Rodolf

I am confused to select either Dell 7537 or 7737? I need for Multi tasking, Internet Browsing, Programming on heavy Softwares.

Thanks for the review; however, I'm more confused than less.  It seems like it performs well,  but not perfect in every category. Neither, as established by your article, have any of its competitors. I certainly appreciate you taking the time to measure the performance, but the lack of a sincere and concrete recommendation leads to a waste of time. At the end of the day though, it seems that your pc approach (pun intended) has avoided offending anyone but the consumer. Thanks  ;D

I believe that this incomplete review by Notebookcheck has somewhat missed the mark; as this Dell Inspiron 7737 was obviously built by a professional Dell Team with the middle-ground in mind. And standing on the middle-ground of having it when needed and not having it is just what some people prefer. Not everyone is concerned with paper performance values, but everyday usage values.  So it would be professionally courteous for Notebookcheck to complete this review by labeling a proper verdict.
