According to LG, this device does NOT have a GPS chip.  Also, the warranty in the U.S. is 12 months

Chicken-breasted long-distance runner. LG offers an 8-inch tablet for less than 200 Euros that has an excellent battery life dubbed G Pad 8.0. However, the runtimes are at the expense of a weak SoC, which is usually found in entry-level smartphones, among other things. Nevertheless, Android 4.4 KitKat and known software features from LG makes the tablet to an interesting product.
