Depends where you got the slate. Chinavasion, for example, has great customer support. I used it quite a few times to solve problems with defective products and they always exceeded my expectations.

Don't buy Ainol products, as they have so many issues, starting with being extremely slow at even the simplest net surfing, to serious issues like tablet not even starting, too many things in Chinese that can't be changed and so on.

Moreover, I ordered Ainol Novo Eternal and got a different version. Of course, their follow-up was poor and once they sold the product they really didn't care.
