I'm not exactly sure but I think Dell/Alienware sold their 680M notebooks only with 2GB VRAM.
@MasterInTheUniverse: Please be sure that you buy a VGA with Optimus enabled (Enduro enabled if AMD VGA). P170EM has optimus technology so the dedicaded VGA can turn off and on again. But there are also cards for other notebooks like P370EM which don't have Optimus. If you buy a VGA without Optimus it probably will not work in P170EM. Furthermore I don't know if the 2GB version will work.
If you buy from upgrademonkey the seller will ask you which notebook model you have so he can send you the right card. For Battlefield 4 in 1080p and high/ultra I would strongly recommend 7970M or 680M.
