If 13inch with a lower GPU I would not buy. If 15 inch I will buy 17".
The best is if they can make a 13" with gtx780 and 1080p. I must buy.
Mini and Portable is the key.

Im arnold from the philippines  i ordered this product because i watch and fascinated by eduardo goyanes in youtube saying that alienware 14 can handle almost any application and it is the perfect choice for portable gamers.Perfect choice? My laptop broke last week and my technician said that the laptop parts inside alienware is made in the philippines.Philippines is known in the world for cheap parts easily broken.I understand that dell alienware cut cost to build this laptop but i paid 80,000 philippine peso just to enjoy this great device just to get my hardware failure and battery broken?Eduardo goyanes and alienware you are liars same with our philippine government all liars >:(.Ill just have to buy a desktop and be content to it.

I received mine on friday and 've been testing most of the weekend.
Had many dobts, based on some comments read here and there...

I'm very satisfied with this machine, and really impressed with the performance.
Mine has got a 256ssd + 750hd

Tested "Company of heroes 2", "battlefield 3", "Metro" along with photoshop and many utils. I played COH for 3 hours.
When you are not playing, you almost can't hear it at all.
When playing, of course you can hear the vent and feel the hot air if you put you hand in the back vent... but any laptop at my home makes more noise then this. Absolutely no problem with the heat, I can't feel the keyboard more than slightly warm.

Compare the numbers with, for example ASUS G750 and you will see little difference in noise & temp measures.

That's true andrew why pay so much for the design of alienware 14?Our main goal is to play games comfortably.if you play in alienware 14 laptop you will get annoyed with the heat coming from your keyboard while the asus g46 it is more cooler because of the dual cooling fans.

I had hands on testing of both the Alienware 14 (as reviewed here with the GTXM765) and a new Asus ROG G46VW (the upgraded version to the model reviewed in Notebookcheck in 2012)... and I agree with the above comment from Jayson. I wanted to like the Alienware, but there were too many points I wasn't happy with, and I eventually bought the Asus (G46VW, June 2013 specification, Intel® Core™ i7 3630QM and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660M 2 Go GDDR5 and a clear, bright 1600 x 900 non-reflective display).

Since then I have played Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2 and several other new release FPS or RPG titles always at 1600 x 900 on high or ultra settings for several hours at a time. The G46 gets at most warm to the touch on the underside, with all of the keyboard area remaining cool to the touch. The noise from the dual fans becomes noticeable, but not intrusively and they are highly efficient, with the exit air temperature warm as opposed to my previous Toshiba where you could not keep your hand near the exit port for fear of cooking it!

I wanted a high power gaming and video processing machine in a 14" format. From my experience the Asus ROG G46VW (June 2013 spec.) is comparable on performance, of a better quality (my opinion), certainly much quieter, cooler, lighter and... a mind-blowing 900 EURO cheaper than the Alienware 14 equivalent in France. What can I say, why pay so much for what is at the end of it all, most disappointingly... a Dell laptop  :-\

From here i can see my results are ok:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-765M.92907.0.html
because the score in the article is for 3d Mark 11 Performance GPU 1280x720 test. The medium score for 3D Mark 11 Fire strike is 2488.6, i got 2497 in the last one, so is ok.

I'm using the Nvidia GPU, i've plugged in the AC and battery option are set to "maximum performance". i'm using the free version of 3D Mark (i dunno if this is the problem). And yes ofc i have the 765m 2GB.

You shoud check if 3D Mark is using your Nvidia GPU or the Intel GPU. Also check if the notebook is set to Power saver at power settings. Just to be clear, you are doing 3D Mark while AC plugged in, right? You have the GTX765M, right?

I got this and it looks great but i can't even touch the 3d mark 11 score in the article. I keep getting around 2500... not event 4000 like in the article. I'm doing something wrong?

Build quality? I bought the alienware 17, but sent it back to dell for build quality issues. The right touchpad button was loose. That was repaired by an engineer, only for the left touchpad button to begin sticking in it's depressed position. The USB ports on the unit were extremely stiff, not smooth at all, and required 2 handed operation at all times for fear of causing damage. Also, the newly supplied unit was not wrapped in plastic inside the box and consequently was (lightly) soiled with white dust from the factory environment.
