The screen is nice, the hard drive is decently sized, the speed is good for what it is.. but I CANNOT get over the mouse and keyboard.... the mouse pad is too large no leaving any palm room leading to misclicks and undesired operation. the keys sometimes do not work at all, you will have to type like your trying to break it just to get it to register... the space bar only works if you press right in the middle which makes typing fast impossible, the mouse sometimes doesn't know the right from the left,  and the design of the mouse is horrible because the actually click part is touch sensitive resulting in undesired operation making this machine very frustrating to use, sometimes almost causing rage, to the point of smashing the screen. this machine will make you go hulk. >:( the half sized Ethernet port mechanism WILL break... no matter what, leaving you with only wireless. the machine is too cheaply made. its cheap on the price but not worth it.. truly not worth the bargain.  :(

i have been using the Asus X401U for about a week now. i am fairly happy with it. yes it can lag at points and yes it does drop frames when watching videos with a higher quality, but overall it preforms well given the price range. i defiantly recommend this to anybody who needs a pc now and is not too worried about quality. personally i am only using it until i can afford to purchase a decent quality desktop. either way its a good price for a fair laptop

Hey, may you tell me about the RAM? Is it removable SODIMM or integrated with motherboard so it look like permanent RAM. Thanks.

#1 Read again. It's a 14" and you can see it by the model number. The 11" is a typo on this site.

Asus getting poor & poor in term of value of money. the 11.6" , 1.7kg?? 3 hours battery life? its the big step back from the netbook generation. for me , 1.3kg , 8 hour battery life should be in this catagories.
AMD is nearly said goodbye in market.
why AMD A6-A10 poor processor dont just use it for Window 8 tablet . its will kill all currently android . because the Android graphic is too slow , too weak to handle the daily working basis. (no excel , no autocad , no photoshop is able to work fine in android)

Inexpensive AMD netbook. At only $280 retail, the Asus X401U is one of the least expensive 14-inch netbooks. However, does the dual-core Zacate processor offer enough performance for daily use?
