I still have it, for 9 years. The only things that needed changing were the HDD, it was having bad sectors and SSD's are just so much better for laptops, and the battery after 6 years the capacity went below 50%. That is all, no issues.

I have had my e130 for about 5 months now and can't say a thing against it. I did have the initial worry about the keyboard layout too but it had proven to be no problem.
I got used to the CTRL and arrow buttons pretty quickly - i guess our brains can adapt more effectively than we think.
And regarding the F1/F12 keys - you can opt for a traditional way of using them (meaning without the need of pressing the Fn button first) .. anyways, I find this design very useful as for a normal user (I am not an IT specialist) it is great that you can control the volume, brightness etc. without pressing the Fn button - i guess the guys in lenovo were actually thinking about whole range of customers and offered a choice. And having a choice is good.
At last I just have to say - TRACKPOINT - THE BEST!!

@ comment #2: the F1-F12 keys are not accessible via Fn only. There is an option in BIOS to disable this "feature".

Thank you for a thorough review even though it's not a mass market model because there are not too many 11 inch screens on the market.
I have a E125 model which similar to the E130.
Before that I have a G model.  I think E130 is great because it is small and compact with less weight and great for mobility due to 11.6 inch screen but the resolution is still the same as the 14 inch model, which means that the text will be smaller but you can view the screen closer with laptop to compensate for it.
I think most people will not be using it under the same condition in the review such as outdoor very much.
I also like the 10 inch netbook size but they mostly come with atom cpu not I3.

First we had the arrow keys half-sized, then the left Ctrl got misplaced, now we have the F1-F12 keys obsoleted as well (accessible via Fn only). Good luck pressing Alt-F4, F10 and other commonly used key combinations.

What the Lenovo guys are thinking nowadays? Reinventing the keyboard?
It wouldn't surprise me if they put a Dvorak layout on the next model.

That's a big NO from me. If I want a toy thingy I would buy a tablet instead.

Despite much better cpu performance and overall better GPU performance this notebook has the same score as AMD based ThinkPad Edge E135. That's strange.
