The big point why the x1600 in the 5672 /w x1600 is slower than the x1600 in the Travelmate 8204wlmi is the graphics cards memory interface. In case of the 5672wlmi the GPU has only a 64bit memory-interface whereas the travelmate's x1600 is 128bit. This results in extremely high performance loss in all, benchmarks AND games. The reason why Acer did this [editiert] is completely unclear.

1,5gb will work better if you play with high details
but it would work best if you have 2x 1gb in dualchannel-mode (because the hypermemory can work faster between ram and gpu)

Does 1,5gig ddr2 work better in games then?

1800 points in 3d06 is our result of the x1600 with 256mb ram + 256mb shared ... this is the major difference between the two scores ... if you want more points you will need the 'right' x1600

in addition to this, the memory clock rate of your machine is not that high (usually 470 mhz).

hi, the score also depends on the cpu (you don't have a very high clocked core duo).
the upgrade from 1gig to 1,5 should not bring you much performance i think.

Hello, :)

I have a AS5672wlmi_1024
intel core duo t2300 1.66ghz
mobility x1600 128mb 512 hypermemory (440core/375mem)
1gb ddr2

I get 2500 with 3dmark05
and   1400 with 3dmark06

Is that score normal cause i see on this site the x1600 gets 1800 with 3dmark06
Should it help if i upgrade the 1gb to 1,5gb ddr2 because of the 512 hypermemory?

Can anyone help me?
