Quote from: Stop it. on Yesterday at 18:16:26This is exactly the same as the people who are still complaining that games aren't getting released on Xbox360 and/or PS3 anymore. It isn't the industry's responsibility to be beholden to outdated tech.
Erm, I honestly don't think the real arguement is do out of date tech but more the pricing of current tech these days.
Most people could care less if the industry decided to make the min spec requirement a rtx 5090. As long as you could get those cards for $500 and not $5000.
I also don't agree with the defense of "stop being so cheap" "just get another job". Like since when did we decide to stick up for multi trillion dolar corporations exploiting massive profits during an economic downturn / recession? Since when is paying mortgage level payments for a GPU justifiable in _any_ era? I don't see the logic. It's like being okay and voting for politicians that reduce taxation on people who are making passive income on properties worth 100+ million. It makes no sense.
Lastly, maybe people would be willing to spend more if there weren't such diminishing returns. Just look at the uproar with ps5 pro vs base ps5. You pay a lot more these days for something that barely looks any better. It just isn't worth it anymore.
