8 bit colour gives 16 million colours - more than you can see!

Dxomark has been a clown fiesta since a long time. A phone that has such bad PWM flickering, which hurts many people's eyes and gives headaches, has no place anywhere near the top of the rankings.

And what about iPhones?

I think it's FRC (Frame rate control) and not RFC.

True bit depth of a display need to be mentioned by the manufacturers along with any kind of FRC techniques used in place as well if any.

Since iPhones also use Samsung display it's likely they are also same as Samsung.

I really don't understand dxomarks reviews sometimes. For example a criticism of the S25Us display is that it's too bright in dark conditions. When one of the main reasons I like the Galaxy ultra displays is that the lowest brightness setting is incredibly dark compared to other phones lowest brightness. So at night I don't have to blast my retinas when looking at the display. And that's not even including the extra dim quick toggle which i just discovered can be turned up even higher in the settings lmao.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has the best display of all smartphones tested by DxOMark so far, not least because of the very high brightness and the screen's anti-glare surface. However, a well-known problem from the previous model is yet to be rectified.
