Given that many modern 'Smart' TV's ether come with or can be loaded with Microsoft's and/or Nivdia's 'streaming gaming app' as well as even many Amazon 'FireTV' sticks (and similar devices) the need or requirement of having an actual 'gaming box' at least for some no longer exists.
Coupled with <60FPS (~30 being 'acceptable') and <=1080P (even 720P is 'acceptable') sets the stage for Gaming as a Service that is streamed over the internet to anyone with a fast enough connection to be viable.
However the 'problem' is on the backend. While Netflix can stream nearly countless titles of STATIC content to equally countless customers GAMES on the other hand are NOT STATIC.
