I have the US market HP Envy 17, model number 17-cw1087nr with the same CPU and RAM speed as the laptop here. I was surprised at the low Geekbench scores in this review and so decided to test them myself. Right out of the box, the laptop scores 1972/8387 (Single Core, Multi-Core). After resetting Windows (cloud download, keep nothing) + clean boot, it scores 2117/8704. There are even higher scores for the same model equipped with the same CPU.

Either something is way off with Notebookcheck's benchmarking or HP are deliberately limiting the performance of German market Envy 17s.

HP has updated its Envy 17 and equipped it with an up-to-date Intel Core Ultra 7 and an RTX 3050. But this hardware upgrade comes with a downgrade. One we find hard to accept. The display of this top-range device has been stripped of an important feature.
