As a writer I mostly just used the layers to shift punctuation around and make it slightly easier for myself. I had to ad quotation marks, swap the question mark back to the right and add exclamation mark to another key on layer two for ease of access.

The changes the author made are smart though for someone useing this board from more general purposes than me!

I recently figured out that if your looking for a good hard case to carry this board around in one listed under "Case Compatible with Fluke T5-1000/ T5 600/ T6-1000/ T6 600 Electrical Voltage, Continuity and Current-Tester Meter" is the perfect dimensions.

Just use a blade to cut out the molded insert for the electrical tester and you have a perfectly sized hard case left to carry your TH40 on the go.

Hey, author here...maybe the article was a little unclear, since that's what I was getting at. The TH40 cannot be used without customisation, and the layers I laid out in the article are my take on setting it up.

The Epomaker TH40 is an excellent affordable entry to the 40% keyboard form factor, but in our recent review, we found that it was impossible to use with the out-of-the-box layers and key bindings. Here's how we set up and optimised the Epomaker TH40 for general use and typing.
