No free game will ever convince me to go back to Epic Games. The only reason I would go back is if they made a remake (or re-envisioning) of the original Unreal 1 game. The campaign, not the Tournament games.
But Epic has long ago cut off the roots to their success and behaves like the Unreal franchise never existed. They even removed all Unreal games from online stores, so younger people don't know they existed. All Epic Games lives for now is "Fortnite". And developing their game engine for the movie industry, but leaving it unoptimized for gaming (e.g. shader compiler B.S.). They should change the name of their engine.
Epic has the game engine and the money to pay a studio for creating a bombastic, unrealistically beautiful remake of their original game - but they don't. Instead they just continue to abuse its name and trample on the franchise that made it popular.
The Epic Games Store has revealed that it will be giving away a classic collection of games in a week's time. Offered as the only giveaway next week, the collection consists of eight games and e-book summarising the hugely popular franchise.
