Since when Oppo Find X8 (which is supposed to have ~6,5-6,6" screen) is considered compact?
Samsung's vanilla S24, Xiaomi 14 and Google Pixel 9 are currently the only "semi-compact" flagship phones on the market (top spec and <155mm height). But Pixel is expensive and some of it's functions locked under subscription payments, plus between the other two S24 is smaller in size (147mm vs Xiaomi's 153mm), so basically Samsung competes just with themselves. I call BS on that news.
There was also vanilla Zenfone from Asus, but... was.
The Galaxy S26 series is not expected to arrive until 2026, but when it does, a rumor says the compact vanilla model might be missing from the lineup. This is said to be as a result of Samsung not being able to keep up with rival compact flagships.
