Come on iTards don't keep their phones that long, they will be on at most 2 yearly update cycle, so they won't care less about Apple using garbage grade QLC, and they'll care even less, Apple is saving money using QLC but pocketing the difference rather than giving users a discount.
I wonder - along with a broken or outdated iPhone, will they throw away a 2TB SSD with a resource that will outlive 3-4 iPhone models? With the increase in capacity, the flash card should be easy to uninstall and move to another smartphone, even on Android. Where are eco-activists looking?
Recent rumors, including a very recent report from TrendForce, have indicated that Apple is considering switching to QLC storage for its 1TB iPhone models, potentially even paving the way for 2TB iPhones. While this is an absolute win in terms of capacity, QLC storage suffers from poorer performance and longevity compared to TLC, which may hamper the user experience.
