You don't need full PCI bandwidth to each SSD, as you only have 5GB connection (if link aggregation is possible).

What is this story with people demanding a NAS to be able to write at 4Gb/s to each drive?

Most likely it won't be able to saturate just one 2.5gbps ethernet port.

What's the point in this "article" or news when you refuse to mention all of them (probably) share pci-e x1 or x2 speed?

No point for having a billion nvme slots but the total speed will just be as fast as two sata ssds.
