MIT Self Assembly Lab has prototyped the 4D Knit Dress that achieves perfect fit through heat treatment. Heat shrink fibers are computer woven into a dress, then selectively shrunk and shaped by a robotic arm-mounted heat gun to achieve the perfect fit.
