Pioniere aus Illinois, USA, haben die weltweit erste Anlage zur Herstellung von nachhaltigem Flugzeugtreibstoff aus Ethanol in Betrieb genommen. Mit einem Investitionsvolumen von $200 Millionen soll die Anlage die Luftfahrtindustrie dekarbonisieren und gleichzeitig die Abhängigkeit von fossilen Brennstoffen reduzieren. Weitere Anlagen sind bis 2025 in Großbritannien geplant.
