Ohjeh, der 400er wurde zwischen 1979 bis 1981 veröffentlicht. Die XL Reihe, 600/800 XL, wurden 1983 veröffentlicht. Obwohl Gemisch identisch.

Der Atari 400 feiert ein kleines Comeback, denn im März kommt eine Mini-Konsole im Look des Heimcomputers aus dem Jahr 1983 auf den Markt, die mit 25 Spielen und einem USB-Joystick ausgeliefert wird, die aber auch ROMs auf einem USB-Stick abspielen kann.
