I still prefer telephoto over ultrawide, but I can still see good use of ultrawide camera when it comes to landscape photography.

The wide and ultrawide camera lenses seem to be the default setup for any phone that falls below the flagship tier. Who do we have to thank for this and are there any alternatives? If you aren't looking to spend top tier prices you might be out of luck.
