Homepods mini have very unreliable and outdated wifi (802.11n) module and especially don't like mesh networks. Very weird things can happen when homepods are paired with AppleTV and AppleTV is using WiFi connection as well (instead of Ethernet).

Images of a HomePod 3 prototype have turned up online. According to various sources, the third-generation smart speaker will have a touchscreen display element, for which Apple is already optimising various tvOS apps.
