I'm still laughing those who expects updates just for fun. Have you ever had a Garmin watch? You will never get updates only bug fixes and the price is 2-3 times more.
Watches have only targeted functionality and if the sowtare works well why do you need updates?
The UI will be the same anyway, does not matter it's wear os 3 or 4 or 42.

Not to mention if you ever had a Samsung phone you could experience downgrade with "updates" which are intentionally made to buy a new phone.
