I have got a Nvidia for last 2 laptops, but same VRAM except for 3060/3050 just makes me want to see ARC and AMD get competitive in Unreal Engine and other GPU renders. Very disapointing.
...Concerning that the significant price boost is here to stay, with an additional power requirement as well. The only consolation is that one is no longer able to spend top dollar for half the performance even when limiting the comparison to other mobile offerings, those designated 4080 or 4090 will be more comparable with each other, and nobody will be trying the stunt of putting those cards in 14"-ers...if the rumor holds.
Alleged clock and TGP specifications of Nvidia's upcoming Ada RTX 40 Laptop GPU lineup have now surfaced. The purported specs seem to indicate up to 200 W TGP including Dynamic Boost for the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 Laptop GPUs with boost clocks well above the 2 GHz mark. GPUs from the RTX 4070 onwards can be configured between 115 W and 140 W (+25 W) TGP with the RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 also slated to be available in 85+10 W options.
