They were stupid not to go this route in the first place. Now a lot of people that might otherwise have considered going with am5 have already gone with raptor lake because the Intel option was priced better.

Ryzen 7000 processors have seemingly had their prices cut to make the Zen 4-based chips a more attractive purchase ahead of the financially crucial holiday season. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X has led the price-cut charge, with it currently being offered for under US$600 in the United States, at around €650 in some European retailers, and for close to £600 for UK buyers.
