Apple is reportedly working on a satellite network of its very own; furthermore, the Cupertino giant may have it ready in time for its latest mobile devices to launch compatible with it out of the box. Then again, the combination is not exactly intended for full-blown GSM-independent communications on the part of the upcoming flagship phones and smartwatches.
